The User in Mind Symposium
24 Jan 2018 | This symposium will bring into dialogue leading academic researchers and practitioners from the fiels of Architecture and Urban Design, as well as Behavioural Science and Cognitive Psychology.
How do practicing architects, urban designers and planners design for and anticipate user-needs?
How can cutting-edge academic research on spatial behaviours, wayfinding & experience, be translated into design policy?
What new research directions in human behaviour can help create better policies and guidelines for the design of future cities?
Symposium
The one-day symposium: The user in Mind. Cognition Perception and Behaviour in the Built Environment: Perspectives from Science, Policy and Practice is organised by the Cognition Perception and Behaviour in Urban Environments of the Future Cities Laboratory. The symposium will bring together a multidisciplinary panel of speakers exploring the role of science, policy, architectural and urban design in understanding and designing for people.
