Dr Goran SIBENIK
Goran is a postdoctoral researcher within the Circular Future Cities module at Future Cities Laboratory, experienced with navigating between industry and academia to find practical solutions for real-world challenges. With a background spanning architecture, structural engineering, and information technology, he holds a bachelor’s degree in architecture from the University of Sarajevo and a master’s degree in building science and technology from TU Wien. His doctoral research at TU Wien focused on improving data exchange between architecture and structural analysis. His current research emphasis is on enhancing sustainability within the construction industry.
Previously, Goran made significant contributions at the Institute for Interdisciplinary Construction Process Management at TU Wien, where he completed his PhD and played a pivotal role in securing funding for various projects. Subsequently, he took on responsibilities as a BIM Manager for major projects in pharmaceuticals and biotechnology. His ongoing goal is to develop a reliable framework for calculating building sustainability within Circular Future Cities, leveraging his role within the esteemed scientific community of the Singapore-ETH Centre (SEC).
