Ayça DURAN
Ayça is a doctoral researcher at ETH Zurich, and she joined the Architecture and Building Systems (A/S) group as a recipient of the A/T doctoral fellowship. In her studies, she focuses on BIPV systems in cities. Her studies aim to analyze different aspects of the interaction between solar panels and urban microclimates, focusing on urban heat islands, outdoor thermal comfort, and BIPV efficiency.
She holds both Bachelor's and Master's degrees in Architecture from METU. During her graduate studies, she incorporated building energy modeling, data science, and machine learning techniques to develop predictive models for the assessment of building energy and solar performance. She worked as a research assistant on an urban building energy modeling project for the past two years. She also contributed to architectural design studios and an environmental design course as a teaching assistant.
