“Technological innovation alone is not enough to tackle the current challenges that urbanism and settlement development are facing” said Prof. Sacha Menz, Director of Future Cites Lab (FCL) Global, in his keynote speech on the 21 February at the press launch event of the Klimahaus/ CasaClima Conference 2023, in Milan, Italy.

“Only a strong collaboration between Science, Design, Engineering and Governance that goes beyond the building scale can show the way for a sustainable development of our cities and their surrounding areas.”

Klimahaus/ CasaClima is the most important low-energy standard for buildings in Italy, and one of the most impactful standards in Europe. The actual Conference will take place in the alpine city of Bolzano, Italy from the 8 to 11 March, 2023, and will gather an important network of local, national and international professionals in the field of technological and sustainable innovation of the built environment.

Prof. Sacha Menz is the Director of the FCL Global Programme, and co-founder of the Institute of Technology in Architecture at ETH-Zurich. He is also the co-Principal Investigator of the Dense and Green Cities module at FCL Global.
