Cool & Clever: Cooling the City
Prof. Thomas Schroepfer and Srilalitha Gopalakrishan from FCL's Dense and Green Building Typologies project discuss clever way to cool the city on German TV ZDF.
German TV ZDF's documentary Plan B put the spotlight on visionaries who are fighting the heat with new ideas. The search for clever ways to cool the city in Singapore brought them to the Future Cities Laboratory, where they spoke to Prof. Thomas Shroepfer, principal investigator, and Srilalitha Gopalakrishan, PhD researcher, from FCL's Dense and Green Building Typologies project.
Our researchers gave them a glimpse into the outcomes from the research, highlighting case studies including the Interlace and Oasia Hotel, and new developmnents such as Kampung Admiralty. They also explained how Singapore, as a city state, has been introducing greenery in spite of the densely-built environment (Segment 12:15 to 15:33 in the documentary).
