Best oral presentation award
Postdoctoral researcher Dr Muhammad Omer Mughal has been awarded the S.W. Tromp Award for the best Oral Presentation at the Symposium for Challenges in Applied Human Biometeorology.

Dr Muhammad Omer Mughal, postdoctoral researcher in the ecosystem services team at the Future Cities Laboratory was awarded the S.W. Tromp Award for best oral presentation at the symposium for challenges in applied human biometereology.
The symposium took place from 2 to 3 March 2020 and was organised by the department for Environmental Meteorology, Albert-Ludwigs-University Freiburg in collaboration with Research Centre Human Biometeorology, German Meteorological Service in Freiburg, and the Society for the Promotion of Human Biometeorological Research in Germany. The symposium's aim was to create and look out for new directions and possibilities for future research trajectories and applications in human biometeorology.
Dr Muhammad Omer Mughal's research focuses on quantitatively investigating the microclimate conditions in the tropical urban environment of Singapore through the use of computational fluid dynamics (CFD). Quantitative investigation of microclimate conditions is crucial to effectively assess urban design performance in terms of the benefits they provide to people living in urban environments.
