Dec - Mar | The Future Cities Laboratory presents a series of digital research tools at the Shenzhen Bi-City Biennale of Urbanism\Architecture 2019.

The Future Cities Laboratory (FCL) presents a series of digital research tools for the planning of sustainable future cities at the Shenzhen Bi-City Biennale of Urbanism\Architecture 2019. The exhibition at the Guangming Science City runs from 22 Dec 2019.

The tools combine data from multiple sources, analytical techniques, imaginative strategies and transdisciplinary knowledge to support planning processes. The exhibition will display the tools and will be complemented with input lectures by FCL domain experts comprising architects, urban designers and software developers.

  • 21 – 22 Dec 2019: Dr Peijun He Postdoctoral Researcher of Big Data-Informed Urban Design
  • 1 – 12 Jan 2020: Prof. Dr Thomas Schroepfer Principal Investigator of Dense and Green Building Typologies

Guangming Science City

 

The Shenzhen Bi-City Biennale of Urbanism\Architecture 2019 is the only biennial exhibition in the world based exclusively on urbanism and urbanisation. The eighth edition of the Biennale in Shenzhen was launched on 15 December 2019, with the theme "Urban Interactions".

The main exhibition will be at the Futian Railway Station and the surrounding areas in Shenzhen. The exhibition will also be held concurrently in nine sub-venues in the districts of Yantian, Bao’an, Longgang, Longhua, Guangming, Dapeng New District and Qianhai Free Trade Zone.
